Legislative Alerts
In this day and age of financial turmoil and budget cuts, there are many issues facing direct marketers. Our members are an active, creative group of marketers that have embraced the multi-channels of marketing, such as; mail, internet, social media, mobile and perhaps channels that have yet to be explored. However, discontinuing or hampering our ability to use one of these channels can upset the entire apple cart. The VT/NH Marketing Group is dedicated to bringing you the most current information on the lastest debates that may affect the way we all do business. This page will connect you to updates of what is being considered or discussed at the local and national levels, and more importantly will let you know what you can do to help or get your voice heard.
Do Not Mail Issues
In 2007 many states, Vermont included, started introducing Do Not Mail legislation. In 2008, 12 state legislatures had 15 Do Not Mail bills under consideration. The 2009 Legislative session has started with two bills being introduced and a non-binding resolution being considered in one major US City. Thankfully most of these bills have died while at the house level, but that doesn’t mean they won’t surface again.
The DMA has been very active in this battle and as an Affiliate of the DMA, the VT/NH Marketing Group supports their efforts.
Get involved and stay informed via the DMA and their newest campaign Mail Moves America program.
