Garnet Hill, a growing high-end multi-channel marketer specializing in original designs in clothing and home décor is seeking an Associate Product Manager to join our team.
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for merchandising exciting collections that reflect the Garnet Hill sensibility in one or more of the following areas: apparel, accessories, footwear and/or rotating categories.
- Manage all aspects of seasonal assortment planning from initial selection through post-seasonal analysis under the supervision of the Product Manager or VP of Merchandising
- Responsible for the growth and development of assigned categories
- Develop and present merchandise plans to the Product Manager and/or VP of Merchandising based on sales history, trend, price point and product positioning to ensure a balanced, marketable assortment
- Participate in all phases of the product creation and/or product merchandising process
- Create and present assortment concepts relative to key item merchandising within categories of responsibility
- Coordinate and attend branded fit and/or sample reviews as required, and execute subsequent follow-up with vendors and internal departments
- Work with Design and Product Development to update and evolve successful products to ensure a compelling product line that meets Garnet Hill standards and image
- Coordinate seasonal merchandise assortment turnover with the Inventory Control department to facilitate the item budgeting process and ensure timely in-house delivery of bulk goods
- Initiate and manage private label development while investigating and introducing new and appropriate branded resources
- Collaborate with Creative team and VP of Merchandising to ensure that the presentation of all channels are visually fresh and compelling
- Prepare seasonal business recaps and participate in the sales analysis, ranking and forecasting process
- Negotiate costs and terms with vendors and set retails that support margin goals
- Proof catalog and web content within designated categories
- Manage photo sample process as required
- Maintain complete familiarity with seasonal layouts and all products designed for catalog and web inclusion
- Keep abreast of market and design trends
- Travel to domestic and international trade shows as required
- Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Fashion Design or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of proven success in an Assistant Product Manager or similar position with a leading upscale fashion manufacturer or retailer
- Catalog/direct marketing experience a plus
Technical Experience/Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word)

This is a pivotal position in the success of the PetEdge catalogs. This position is the key liaison between the product development team and the catalog creation team. This person will analyze catalog performance, and product positioning, as well as work closely with the product development team to understand and position the hundreds of new products introduced each season. This position will also recommend e- commerce positioning and selling points for inclusion on the Petedge web site. This position develops the copy requirements and pagination for products based on recommendations, understanding of the product categories and product adjacencies, and adheres to all catalog deadlines. Product photography and copy approval will be in your domain.
- Analyze page and space ( square inch reports) for results and assessments
- Provide “pin up” guides to Creative team
- Develop copy and photography direction for new products
- Edit and approve layouts, photography and copy for PetEdge catalogs
- Report on current live catalog sales activities
- Direct marketing experience in a multi-channel environment using space and sales analysis
- Excellent project management skills on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines
- Experience with multiple skews
- Excellent relationship management skills and be able to drive project, debate merits of approach and collaborate effectively with others.

This position will be responsible for processing orders, brochure fulfillment, preparing shipping paperwork, running basic reports, in addition to a variety of other office tasks. This is a 20-hour a week position with the potential for full-time.
